Surviving your first trip to Las Vegas can be an amazing adventure if you’re well prepared. In this blog, we’ll guide you through the essential tips and tricks for making the most of your Vegas experience and ensuring you leave with unforgettable memories. 

1. Plan Your Itinerary 

It’s best to plan your itinerary in advance. Identify the shows, attractions and activities you want to experience. TwitchCon will be running from October 20-22, so be sure to check out the schedule. 

For events outside of TwitchCon, you can use resources like the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to stay up to date on current events and promotions. 

2. Budget Wisely

It’s easy to get caught up on the excitement of Las Vegas. Setting a daily budget and sticking to it can ensure that you don’t go overboard financially. Casinos, restaurants and entertainment can quickly drain your bank account if you’re not careful. If you’ve set up your itinerary, it should be easy to create a daily budget. 

3. Enjoy the Free Attractions 

Believe it or not, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have some fun experiences in Vegas. There’s plenty of free attractions to enjoy. 

Stroll down the Strip to admire the beautiful architecture. Our team highly recommends checking out the stunning Venetian. The Bellagio Fountain is a must see, and it’s free. There’s a beautiful wildlife habitat at the Flamingo free of charge. If you find your way to Fremont Street, there’s a captivating LED canopy and loads of free entertainment. 

4. Pack Appropriately

Las Vegas offers a range of experiences, from casual to upscale. Make sure to pack a variety of outfits to suit the activities on your itinerary. While the dress code is generally relaxed, some venues such as nightclubs, have specific requirements, so check in advance. Of course, be sure to pack comfortable shoes. Walking the strip is no joke, you can be out there for hours at a time exploring everything. 

5. Use Public Transportation or Ride-Sharing

The Las Vegas Strip is a lot longer than it seems, and walking between casinos and attractions can be exhausting. Save your energy for enjoying the sights and use public transportation, such as the Las Vegas Monorail or Deuce bus, or opt for ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft to get around conveniently. 

6. Be Cautious at the Casinos

Gambling can be a lot of fun when done responsibly. Set a gambling budget and stick to it. Avoid chasing your losses, and remember that the odds are always in favor of the house. Be sure that the money you set aside for gambling is money you are okay with losing. While gambling, drinks are typically free. It’s important to be cautious with alcohol, you want to have memories, not forgettable black out moments.
