MrBeast: The Biggest YouTuber of All Time

He passed PewDiePie on November 14, 2022
MrBeast is now the biggest YouTuber of all time

Jimmy Donaldson said that even at 13 he had a “laser-like focus” to become the best YouTuber. He said he feels like it was “programmed in him.”

He is now the most subscribed individual on the platform, and the momentum is not slowing.

The entire creator industry pays attention to what he and Reed Duchscher have built for a reason. Everything that has gotten him to this point is clearly intentional. And while the launches of Feastables and MrBeast Burger are shaping the way people look at the business of creators, Jimmy’s obsession with building and growing the YouTube channel is what has set him apart.

He has used content formats that are relatable to everyone:

  1. Personal challenges 💪. From his exhausting “Counting to 100,000” video in 2017 to one of his most viewed videos “I spent 50 Hours Buried Alive,” he puts himself through intense physical experiences that could be interesting to anyone.
  2. Rewarded challenges 🎁. He started creating challenges for his friends for money or a car, and built to to his most viewed video- a real life Squid Game where 456 people competed for $456,000
  3. Donating money 💰. Kindness and generosity are ubiquitous, and he made a number of videos of him donating money to streamers, tipping massive sums to Uber & delivery drivers, and giving money away to random people.

And of course, this is just his main channel. Including translated channels, he has over 30 now, so realistically he has been the most subscribed YouTuber for a while. Yesterday just made it official.

Congrats to Jimmy and onward to his next goal - 1 billion.
